Annual BSCOS Bursaries available:
Two Consultant Travelling Bursaries of £1000
One Trainee Bursary of £750
Two Bursaries are available annually. The purpose of these is to assist a member of BSCOS in good standing to gain further knowledge that would benefit his/her paediatric practice by visiting a centre of excellence under the supervision of an expert in the field. The application must include details of the centre to be visited, a statement of the benefits which the applicant hopes to gain from the visit and a proposed budget. These bursaries will not be allocated to fund courses or other meetings for which study leave would normally be appropriate.
The purpose of this Bursary is to support the costs incurred in a Trainee presenting a paper relevant to the practice of children's orthopaedic surgery at an overseas meeting. The application must include a statement of support by a member of BSCOS in good standing, details of the meeting, evidence that the paper had been accepted for presentation, the Trainee's proposed budget and an indication of financial support from other sources. The Bursary must be acknowledged at the beginning or end of the Trainee's presentation.
The Bursaries will be awarded each calendar year and recipients will be expected to give a report on their visits at the next meeting of the Society.
Further details, terms and conditions may be found here.
If you wish to apply for a bursary please contact the Hon Sec before 1st February 2017. Successful applicants will be notified at the Annual Meting in Glasgow.
